About Akriti Kakar
- Akriti started learning Hindustani classical music at 5 and had her first stage performance at the same age.
- She was educated at Springdales School, Pusa Road and the Delhi University.
- She became part of "Little Stars", the Anand Ji troupe, and completed two world tours.
- She won the TVS Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt in 1998 and an award from Sangam Kala Group.
- Some of her albums include "Ek Sapna", "Punjabi Pop Dhamaka 2000", "Baby Doll Chapter 2", and "A-TEEN".
- She also had international projects, one with Mattel & Sa Re Ga Ma HMV in an animated Barbie movie and a film by Disney called "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2" where she sang three fresh tracks, released in 2007.
- Akriti sang many playback songs for movies like DUS (2004), ROCKY (2006), CHUP CHUP KE (2006), Shakalaka Boom Boom (2007), RED \"the dark side\" (2007), Namastey London (2007), Good Boy Bad Boy (2007), Apne (2007), Johnny Gaddaar (2007), DHOL (2007), Mummy Ji (2007), Welcome (2008), Kismat Konnection (2008), Kidnap (2008), Hari Puttar (2008), Golmaal Returns (2008), Billu Barber (2008), Aa Dekhein Zara (2008), We are Family (2008), Mirch (2008), and Tere Bin Laden (2008).
- Besides these, she has also sung many songs in other regional languages, including a chartbuster song in the Bengali film "Paglu".
- She released a solo music album "Akriti", composed by Shankar Mahadevan and herself, on Sony Music.
- She was nominated for new musical sensation-female for "Johnny Gaddar" at Max-Stardust Awards 2008.
- Her solo album "Akriti" was awarded the best Non-Film album at GIMA 2011 in New Delhi.
